About Me

I am passionate about body sovereignty, reproductive justice, and accessible, culturally-informed holistic care for all people. I believe people are the experts of their own lives and bodies.

I support folks to tap into their ancestral knowledge and inner wisdom as they navigate pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenthood. I feel deeply connected to my birthing ancestors, particularly to my grandmother. Her legacy provided inspiration and guidance to me on my own birthing journey and ascent into motherhood.

I am proud to be a Certified Childbirth Educator through Whole Body Pregnancy. I feel called to serve BIPOC families throughout their pregnancy and parenthood journeys, and hope to offer BIPOC specific pregnancy and postpartum support in the future!

Background

I hold a MSW and MA in Women’s & Gender Studies from Loyola University Chicago. From 2014-2018, I was a member of We Are BRAVE (Building Reproductive Autonomy & Voices for Equity), a Portland-based people of color-led coalition working towards a world where all people in all communities thrive. Through BRAVE, I was part of the original team that drafted Oregon’s SB 894 - what would later become HB 3391, the Reproductive Health Equity Act.

Currently, I am an Adjunct Faculty Member at Portland State University's School of Social Work, as well as a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer who is passionate about movement and mental health. I am a proud mama of two spirited and strong-willed daughters, Carmen Luz and Liliana Sol. They are my greatest teachers. I love kombucha, reality t.v., weightlifting, and The Lord of the Rings.
